Sunday, April 19th: we relive Season 13's In Concert opener, “To The Beat of a Different Drummer” – with our guest artists joining us for Facebook Live chat and Q&A! Spotlighting ROCO principal percussionist Matthew McClung, the program features two ROCO commissions: the world premiere of Five Views of a Unfamiliar Tune, a percussion concerto by composer Paul Lansky; and the world premiere of Seattle-based Anthony DiLorenzo's Anthem of Hope, written in response to the resilience of the community following Hurricane Harvey. Led by conductor Victor Yampolsky, the program also included three 20th-century works: Kurt Weill’s Symphony No. 2; Paul Hindemith’s Cupid and Psyche; and Igor Stravinsky’s Dumbarton Oaks. Recorded live September 23, 2017, at The Church of St. John the Divine, Houston, TX, with videography by Blueprint Film Co.
The broadcast will take place at 2pm Central / 12pm Pacific.
