The Westerlies: Brassroots Activism Vol. 1
Free (Free (registration required))
The Westerlies are jumping with joy as they announce Brassroots Activism Vol. 1, the first edition of an online concert series that pairs music and civic engagement, co-presented by Common Purpose and curated by The Westerlies!
As part of Common Purpose's #FightFromHome initiative, we'll be calling, emailing, and tweeting at elected officials across the country to advocate for safe voting via mail-in ballots during the Covid-19 pandemic, all while enjoying LIVE solo sets from some of our favorite artists. We've put together a stellar line up, including indie songstress Kate Davis, inimitable vocalist Michael Mayo, and songwriter, pianist, and activist Samora Pinderhughes. Capping it all off will be an all-vinyl DJ set by Aaron Frazer, drummer of Durand Jones and The Indications.
The livestream will take place at 8:30pm Eastern / 5:30pm Pacific.
