"The "Spannungen" Festival was always about musicians reacting to the situations they found themselves in," says Lars Vogt, "rethinking and reimagining music to allow audiences to experience it with emotional directness. That aim hasn't changed in our current situation. We want to make music, because it's essential for us! As such, we're delighted to present our Ghost Festival."

The concert begins with music for solo piano: Alexander Schimpf presents Scriabin's idiosyncratic Préludes op. 74. Then Isabelle Faust is joined by Julian Steckel and Mario Häring Beethoven's "Archduke" Trio, a towering masterpiece of the repertoire, before introducing Georges Rochberg's rarely heard Caprice-Variations. The programme concludes in style with Dvořák's irresistible String Quintet Op. 97, with a superb line-up led by Vilde Frang and Christian Tetzlaff.

The livestream will take place at 11am Pacific.
