Seattle Opera Songs of Summer with Mary Elizabeth Williams
Free
Mary Elizabeth Williams, soprano
Debora Mori, piano
Mary Elizabeth Williams – a Seattle favorite from the start of her career as a Seattle Opera Young Artist – offers selections from Hector Berlioz’s Les Troyens, Richard Wagner’s Tristan und Isolde, and Giacomo Puccini’s Turandot in this recital. Memorable McCaw Hall moments include her command performance as Queen Elizabeth in Mary Stuart (2016), a thrilling "Vissi d’arte" performance from the 2015 Tosca, as well as a haunting rendition of “My Man’s Gone Now” from Porgy and Bess (2011). A crowd-pleaser on any stage, she is noted for her “passionate intensity and beautifully produced power” (The Seattle Times).
The livestream will take place at 7pm Pacific.
