Performing in the beloved chamber-music setting of the Kennedy Center Terrace Theater, MacArthur “Genius Grant”–winner Alisa Weilerstein gives a Home Delivery Plus recital that showcases both the sonic range of the cello and her own mastery of the instrument, in solo works including Bach’s immortal Suite No. 3 and Kodály’s exhilarating and technically daunting solo sonata. In the Los Angeles Times’s words: “Weilerstein’s cello is her id. She doesn’t give the impression that making music involves will at all. She and the cello seem simply to be one and the same.”
