Through Telematic performance, this show will be bringing together a number of artists to celebrate Juneteenth, Black Liberation Day. Telematic performances are show in which performers are playing live in different locations and using telecommunications to collaborate.

Since the beginning of the pandemic Trevor has been working with and performing with orchestras to create live online (telematic) performances. Using these technology and methods musicians around the United States will play music to celebrate the oldest nationally celebrated commemoration of the ending of slavery in the United States.

Join us for this very special show!

Some more history:

Juneteenth is the oldest nationally celebrated commemoration of the ending of slavery in the United States. Dating back to 1865, it was on June 19th that the Union soldiers, led by Major General Gordon Granger, landed at Galveston, Texas with news that the war had ended and that the enslaved were now free. Note that this was two and a half years after President Lincoln’s Emancipation Proclamation.

This Planetarymuse is presented by Groupmuse Foundation’s Planetary Music Movement. This bridge-building endeavor guides Groupmuse to overcome the historical Eurocentrism within the classical music tradition, by celebrating historical and contemporary musical traditions of the planet, particularly and imminently through the inclusion and celebration of works by artists of African descent.

The livestream will take place at 7:30pm Eastern / 4:30pm Pacific.

$10+ minimum payment to musicians, $3 reservation fee.
