In the centennial celebration of Astor Piazzolla, the single most important figure in the history of tango, multi-Grammy-nominated violinist Philippe Quint performs some of the most iconic tango pieces in a program that uses music, narration, and visuals to showcase the music and movement that define this historical dance.
Philippe is joined by the brilliant pianist Jun Cho for an evening that centers the work of the Argentine master of the tango, but reaches well beyond the Southern Cone. The performance is pre-recorded, and top quality, produced by our friends at the Philharmonic Society. Philippe will be joining the assembled for a Zoom chat before and after the show.
A generous patron has underwritten the performance, so money collected will go to the Groupmuse Foundation.
The broadcast will take place at 5:00pm Central / 3:00pm Pacific.
RSVP for details/broadcast link. $10+ minimum payment to musicians, $3 reservation fee.
