Felix Mendelssohn – Symphony No. 1 in C minor, Op. 11
Principal Guest Conductor Nathalie Stutzmann leads a performance of Bach’s Concerto for Two Violins and String Orchestra, known for the sublime, heart-stirring solos in its second movement. Mendelssohn wrote his First Symphony at age 15, establishing his early identity as a composer and reflecting his admiration for J.S. Bach, W.A. Mozart, and F.J. Haydn.
This program runs approximately 1 hour and will be performed without an intermission.
