A tenor with a sweet, beautifully sculpted tone, Paul Appleby has earned a strong reputation for his expressive acting, interpretative depth, and versatility. Appleby’s ability to shape phrases “with melting tenderness” (The New York Times) is sure to be on display in a program highlighted by Beethoven’s An die ferne Geliebte, Op. 98, the first of the great Romantic song cycles.
