Prokofiev's timeless favorite introduces the different instruments in the orchestra as characters in a classic Russian folk tale, Peter and the Wolf.
Mini Maestros concerts are an informal concert offering specially created for children ages 2-8 and their grown-ups. Prokofiev's Peter and the Wolf, with the full orchestra, opens the series. This is followed by three programs for smaller ensembles – providing for an interactive, close encounter with the musicians. With curriculum prepared by early childhood learning experts, the 45-minute "informances" feature elements to get the children engaged both physically and mentally. An instrument petting zoo starts one hour before each concert.
