Blast off! The Tacoma Symphony Orchestra Brass Quintet is headed into outer space and they are taking you with them! Come and learn all about the brass family and enjoy a space-themed musical adventure that is out of this world. On this musical voyage, we will continue to explore elements of music such as pulse, dynamics and range. The TSO Brass Quintet will perform a variety of tunes inspired by the planets, stars and intergalactic travel!

Mini Maestros concerts are an informal offering specially created for children ages 2 to 8 and their grown-ups. Prokofiev’s Peter and the Wolf, with the full orchestra, opened the series. This will be followed by three programs for smaller ensembles – providing for an interactive, close encounter with the musicians. With curriculum prepared by early childhood learning experts, the 45-minute “informances” feature elements to engage children both physically and mentally. An instrument petting zoo starts one hour before each concert.
