Founded in 1982, the Shenzhen Symphony Orchestra is currently under the direction of orchestra president Mr. Chen Chuansong and music director Dr. Christian Ehwald. Over the last 30 years, the orchestra has built up a large classic repertoire both at home and abroad, traveling to Thailand, Indonesia, Poland, France, Italy and more. Since 2005, the orchestra has held three sessions of China Composing Doctorate Music Works concerts and two competitions of local symphonic works.
