Multiple Bach: Concertos on Caffeine
$20-$39
From 1729 to 1739, Bach directed concerts at Zimmermann’s Kaffeehaus, the largest and best appointed café in the city of Leipzig. This quirky – and caffeine-filled – program collects original compositions as well as Alexander Weimann’s own reconstructions and arrangements of concertos for two, three, and four instruments from Bach’s Kaffeehaus concerts.
Come for the coffee, stay for the music!
--> LMP CRITIC'S PICK. Alexander Weimann is bringing a fresh (and sometimes quirky) outlook to Seattle Baroque Orchestra. His Concertos on Caffeine concert is about Bach’s weekly coffee house concerts and features two, three and four harpsichords all playing at once. ~ Philippa Kiraly, classical music critic
