The Seattle-based Mosaic Brass Quintet is one of the region’s most in-demand brass ensembles. Its members perform regularly with several of the area’s top ensembles, including the Seattle Symphony, Tacoma Symphony, and the Northwest Sinfonietta, and are current or former faculty members at Pacific Lutheran University, Western Washington University, and Northwest University.
Mosaic Brass has appeared at the Olympic Music Festival, Tacoma’s Second City Chamber Series, Benaroya Hall, and many other venues around the Pacific Northwest. The group enjoys performing a wide range of music from the Renaissance to the twenty-first century, and its members get along surprisingly well with each other considering the potentially disastrous combination of Red Sox, Yankees, and Mariners fans.
About the First Friday Salon:
Local violinist and conductor Julia Tai has curated a series of concerts inspired by a 19th Century tradition of informal and intimate performances at home. With the exception of January 8, 2016, these events will occur on the first Friday of each month. No stuffed-shirt event, audiences are encouraged to wear comfortable attire, bring their friends, and engage in a highly social and interactive musical experience.
