Gül Fahriye Evren, a visiting scholar from Turkey, presents a voice recital of art songs and arias, as well as traditional music from Turkey, Germany, France, Italy, and beyond.

About the artist
Gül Fahriye Evren comes from Turkey. She has graduated the school as a Bachelor of Arts in Faculty of Education, Department of Fine Arts Education, Division of Music Education from Konya Selcuk University at 2004, as a Master of Arts at 2006and Ph.D. at 2011. She has worked in Selcuk University State Conservatory Theatre and Turkish Classical Music Departments and also in Selcuk University’s Faculty of Education, Music Education Department at 2004-2006. Gül Fahriye Evren has worked as a lecturer in Erciyes University, Kayseri at 2006-2013. She has been working as an Assistant Professor ,Dr. since September 2013 in Erciyes University.

During her musical career Gül Fahriye Evren has given many concerts and attempted competitions in different countries and cities. Gül Fahriye Evren is also known as a researcher, interested in voice disorders and voice therapy, physical and mental relaxation techniques in music education, Turkish and foreign language education in voice education.

With the Voice Division, School of Music, University of Washington, she performed the role of “Giunone” with Orpheus Ensemble's presentation of La Calisto and also performed in the UW Opera Theatre presentation during the 2015-2016 school year at University of Washington.
