As both organist and director of choirs, Peter Latona has garnered many awards and other accolades for his interpretations of sacred music. He is director of music at the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception in Washington, D.C., where he oversees one of the largest and most comprehensive church music programs in the nation. He holds advanced degrees from the Manhattan School of Music and the Yale School of Music and is highly regarded as an improvisateur.

In addition to performing works of Bach, Duruflé, and Franck, Dr. Latona will improvise a suite based on chants for the Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception.
