Celebrate the splendid music and poetry of France with this program of choral classics, directed by Fredrick Lokken. The concert features Maurice Duruflé’s exquisite "Requiem" for chorus and organ, accompanied by guest artist Norma Aamodt-Nelson. Works by Gabriel Fauré ("Cantique de Jean Racine"), Francis Poulenc ("Belle et ressemblante" from "Sept Chansons"), Charles-Marie Widor ("Quam dilecta tabernacula tua") and Camille Saint-Saens ("Calme des Nuits"), as well as a rousing arrangement of a folk song from the Channel Islands, "Verduron", fill out the program.
