Long-time friends of Meany Center for the Performing Arts, the Emerson String Quartet has accumulated an unparalleled list of achievements over three decades: more than 30 acclaimed recordings, nine Grammys, three Gramophone Awards, the Avery Fisher Prize, and Musical America’s “Ensemble of the Year.”
The Emerson celebrates their 40th anniversary this season. Their program includes a new work by British composer Mark Anthony Turnage, commissioned in part by Meany Center, as well as a performance with our esteemed UW Professor of Piano, Craig Sheppard.
