In Umberto Giordano's Fedora, Russian princess Fedora Romanov seeks revenge for the murder of her fiancé. In her quest, she falls in love with the very man who killed him: Count Loris Ipanov. As the truth is revealed, she discovers that her fiancé was not the man she thought he was. Taking place in Russia and France, this score is full of lush verismo music, written by the same composer who gifted the world with Andrea Chenier and features the unforgettable tenor aria “Amor ti vieta” (Love forbids it).
Sung in Italian with Italian and English supertitles and performed with violin, cello, piano, and chorus alongside the principal cast.
Featured performers are Regina Thomas, Tim Janecke, Ryan Bede, Karen Early Evans, Clarice Warrick, Diann Spicer, Michael Dudley, Glen Nielson, Cary Lee, Renwick Hester.
Artistic director: Regina Thomas. Musical direction by John Burkhardt, Candice Chin on violin, and Janice Lee on cello.
