The medieval ideal of courtly love permeated the poetry of the age so thoroughly that, if it hadn't existed, it's hard to see what they would have sung about. The overwhelming preponderance of songs about love in our own culture is merely an extension of medieval norms. Medieval love songs contain elements so universal that they could almost constitute a how-to guide for the conduct of romantic relationships among the nobility. In this concert, the Medieval Women's Choir will show you how to follow instructions.

The Medieval Women's Choir (MWC) illuminates the Medieval world by celebrating the vitality of its rare and beautiful music. They offer all Seattle area women the opportunity to grow as singers by sharing these ancient masterworks in high-quality performances. The MWC is one of the only non-professional choirs in the United States to specialize in medieval repertoire.
