George Frideric Handel – Past Concerts near Seattle, WA

Semele illuminates the darkly comedic story of a mortal woman’s tryst with a dangerous God. Chaos ensues in the wake of unbridled lust, jealousy and revenge.

The region’s newest large orchestra-and-chorus reveal what Elgar, Haydn, Handel, Mendelssohn, Moses Hogan and Leonard Bernstein understood about prophets and prophecy through the ages. Then, ENSIGN tackles the challenging but thrilling oratorio by prolific composer, conductor and educator Dr. Crawford Gates — Visions of Eternity.

Byron Schenkman will be performing with Cornish College Artist Diploma candidate Joshua Romatowski, baroque flute, and fellow faculty member Margriet Tindemans, bass viol, in works by Benda, Couperin, Handel, and Leclair.

Delirio Amoroso captures the glory and verve of Handel’s youth in Rome – the compositions he might have heard and the music he came up with in response.

Faculty artist Dainius Vaicekonis will performs a recital of variation forms featuring G. F. Handel's Chaconne, Leopold Godowsky's Passacaglia, Symphonic Etudes by Robert Schumann, and variation sets by Clara Schumann and Johannes Brahms.
