Clara Schumann – Past Concerts

Works by Johanna Kinkel, Josephine Lang, Clara Schumann, Melanie Bonis, Cécile Chaminade, Pauline Viardot, Germaine Tailleferre, Pierrette Mari, and Amy Marcy Beach.

Pianist Suzanne Zahniser will play Schumann/Liszt “Dedication” and Gershwin’s “Prelude No. 2” at the Occidental Park piano.

Robin McCabe hosts this series of performances involving faculty, students and guest artists performing works by Brahms, Schumann, and Mendelssohn. Each performance is preceded by brief remarks to contextualize the repertoire performed.

Faculty artist Dainius Vaicekonis will performs a recital of variation forms featuring G. F. Handel's Chaconne, Leopold Godowsky's Passacaglia, Symphonic Etudes by Robert Schumann, and variation sets by Clara Schumann and Johannes Brahms.
