A re-creation of Christmas mass at the Sistine Chapel in the 17th century, featuring works by composers employed by the Vatican.

Explore the mysteries at the heart of the Christian story, with music from different cultures of the Western world. The program will include works by a host of early composers – Giovanni Gabrieli, Josquin Des Prez, Orlando di Lasso, Giovanni Palestrina, William Byrd and Tomas Luis de Victoria – as well as later works by Hugo Wolf, Francis Poulenc and Sergei Rachmaninoff.

A broad collection of a cappella Renaissance works that focus on the contrasting passions of loss and of celebration.
