Holiday – Past Concerts

People of all faiths and backgrounds are invited to this community event that features the sounds of holiday and seasonal favorites.

The Northwest University Concert Choir and Coro Amici, joined by the Kirkland Civic Orchestra, present new carol arrangements and traditional selections by Howard Helvey, Dan Forrest, John Rutter and more, including a few traditional sing-a-longs. Special music by pianist Mizue Fells and organist Jo Ann Stremler.

Portland Cello Project has built a reputation for mixing genres and blurring musical lines wherever they go. Their diverse, 800-piece repertoire features music you wouldn’t normally hear coming from a cello — everything from Bach to Kanye to Radiohead. Special guest: Ural Thomas & the Pain.

Seattle Baroque Orchestra is joined by Eric Milnes and Canadian soprano soloist Hélène Brunet for a holiday celebration that includes Handel’s famous Gloria, Corelli’s Christmas Concerto, Noels by Michel Corrette, Marin Marais’ Chaconne and cantatas and arias by Scarlatti, Bach, Salazar and Zipoli.

Seattle Pro Musica brings a Gallic flair to the holidays with Christmas motets by 20th-century French masters Francis Poulenc and Pierre Villette. Our program also showcases medieval and Renaissance Christmas music from France along with traditional French carols.

The UW Collegium Musicum, under the direction of Music History professor JoAnn Taricani, presents a program of music from 1200 written for the new Cathedral of Notre Dame in Paris and carols from 18th-century Cornwall.

Program will include works by Beethoven and Mozart, as well as many holiday works and selections from Frozen. Program will also include a chamber ensemble.

Enjoy carols, holiday classics and a sing-along in this one-hour concert for kids and families. Local schoolchildren and famed French chef Thierry Rautureau, the Chef In The Hat, will join us for a special holiday treat. Bring the whole family!

Experience the story of Brother Heinrich and a musical donkey that creates a new Christmas carol before your very eyes and ears! Robert Shaw’s rich choral arrangements will satisfy your craving for beautifully sung Yuletide favorites. And to top it off, join the fabulous Seattle Chamber Singers in a sing-a-long that will get you in the Christmas spirit!
