St. James Cathedral Cantorei – Past Concerts

St. James Cathedral commemorates the Feast of All Souls with a solemn Mass for the Dead featuring Maurice Duruflé's Requiem, his sublime sacred work of music based on Gregorian chant.

A 10-voice choir from the Cathedral Cantorei will sing plainchant & Renaissance composer Thomas Tallis's settings of the Lamentations of Jeremiah. In-person attendance only in Seattle, WA.

Music at St. James Cathedral presents its 38th annual New Year’s Eve Gala Concert featuring Baroque music from Marc-Antoine Charpentier (1643-1704) performed by St. James Cathedral Cantorei and Seattle Baroque Orchestra, conducted by Joseph Adam.

Music and homilies focused on the words of Christ from the cross, including works of di Lasso, Victoria, and other Renaissance composers.

The Cathedral Cantorei sing chants and motets for the Office of Tenebrae, including Gregorio Allegri’s famous Miserere.

Ring in the New Year with festive music by Bach, Handel, and Rheinberger, including Bach’s 1723 version of the famed Magnificat.
